World Universities Debating Championship

Daniel and I did not accomplish our goal of breaking at the World Universities Debating Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece. Still, I learned a lot in Thessaloniki about the person I would like to be this year.

The competition did not go as I intended, and that is okay. In the last semester, I nearly forgot that winning debates should be secondary to doing the work I love.

I have incredible opportunities waiting for me at home. In 2016, I will continue growing as a scholar, teacher and artist. I will be my own standard and measure my success not against others, but by the strength of the bonds and the communities I build.

Slightly disheveled, mostly exhausted, Hawai‘i debaters in Greece!
